In December 2020, local students submitted their completed works of art to the Florence Community PTA to be reviewed. The three categories promoted were Visual Arts, Photography, or Literature. Included with each artist’s entry was a title and personal statement about their work. Local artists, Ellen Huntingdon and Kathleen Wenzel, served as art reviewers for the PTA. They did a fantastic job critiquing each piece by way of a point system in the areas of Interpretation of Theme, Creativity, and Techniques.
While all art pieces received were thoughtfully created, top placements are: Maddox Rainwater, 1st Grade, Award of Excellence; Joshua Banks, 1st Grade, Award of Merit; Nicholas Duman, 1st Grade, Honorable Mention; Presley Pitcher, 1st Grade, Honorable Mention.
