This Friday, April 23rd, Lane County Public Health will be offering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to all Siuslaw students ages 16 and older at the Florence Events Center. Vaccine shots will be administered by members of the Lane County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue Team.
Siuslaw school staff are calling students and families now to assist in scheduling an appointment time. Appointment slots are 15 minutes and are scheduled from 10am to 645pm.
Considering the impact on community health and the logistics of trying to schedule upwards of 270 eligible students at Siuslaw HS for vaccination, virtual classes for this Friday will be cancelled.
A second dose clinic will be scheduled 3 weeks from April 23rd; students that turn 16 after the 23rd can schedule their 1st dose for that clinic.
