Siuslaw High School's Health Occupations class is hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on February 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the auxiliary gym.
Follow these steps to sign up for an appointment.
1) Go to: redcrossblood.org
2) Hover on Donate Blood and then click Schedule appointment.
3) Type in zip code: 97439
4) Click on See Times under the Blood Drive date of December 12.
5) Next to the times, there are open spots that say "Blood" or "Power Red," which you can click to schedule your appointment.
6) Create new account if you don't have an existing one.
What is Power Red? Eligible individuals with types O, A negative, and B negative blood are urged to make a Power Red donation where available. During this type of donation, red blood cells are separated from other blood components, and the plasma and platelets are safely and returned to the donor.
