It all started with a surprise package of letters from Mr. Max Perry's Siuslaw High School's Leadership class. Ms. Megan Lade's first graders each received a personalized letter written for them from a high school pen pal. Over the course of two months, letters were written and delivered between the two schools.
On April 18, the high school students came for a visit. Watching them all interact, play games, and talk about their letters was heartwarming. Many of the high school students shared their stories about when they were in first grade, which thrilled the younger generation. Ms. Lade said she is looking forward to continuing this new tradition.
