The Siuslaw Special Education Department strives to create responsive and unique programs to address the needs of students with disabilities who are on Individual Education Plans, as outlined under The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). This page will serve as a general overview, as well as a place for us to include resources for parents, families, educators, or anyone interested in special education.

SPED Consolidated Improvement Plan (CIP)
Each year, our data is reviewed by ODE for achieving standards on identified indicators. There are 17 indicators that include benchmarks on graduation and dropout rates, assessment and achievement, and placement for students with disabilities. Once the new information is compiled, each district is responsible for data review, needs assessment and updates to our SPED Consolidated Improvement Plan. A copy of that CIP is located at the link below, or you can email Lisa Utz for a copy (lutz@siuslaw.k12.or.us).
