The Florence Community PTA is proud to host an Adolescent Wellness and Suicide Prevention Forum on Wednesday, March 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Siuslaw Middle School. The event aims to raise awareness about the importance of mental health among young people and to highlight the resources available in Florence, Oregon that promote well-being and safety. Several local and regional organizations have volunteered to support our community at this event, including Coastal Counseling, LLC, Siuslaw Outreach Services, Mobile Crisis Response Team, Oregon Integrated Health, PFLAG, Options Counseling and Family Services, Lines for Life, Lane County Public Health, among others. The focus of this talk will be on how to recognize signs of distress in kids and teenagers, what to do when those signs appear, and how to help someone who may be struggling.
The Adolescent Wellness and Suicide Prevention Forum is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
