Wear your brightly colored and mismatched socks as a conversation piece to raise awareness about Down Syndrome on Thursday, March 21. "Rock Your Socks" reminds people that things that are different are still beautiful and wonderful! This event at Siuslaw High School is sponsored by the Circle of Friends Club.
March 21st was chosen because the karyotype of Down Syndrome chromosomes actually looks like a pair of mismatched socks, and it is celebrated 3/21 because it is 3 copies of the 21st chromosome instead of 2 copies.
