Siuslaw School District

The Florence Police Department would like to inform the community that the Eugene Metro Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) will be visiting Siuslaw High School on October 30th from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM as guest speakers in Officer Coons’ Forensic Science class.

As part of the Arson and Explosives Investigation Unit, students will have the opportunity to learn firsthand from EDU team members about investigative procedures, safety protocols, and the technology used in explosive ordinance disposal.

This is an educational visit and training demonstration only. Community members may notice EDU vehicles or equipment at the high school during this time — there is no cause for concern.
