Students from Siuslaw School District are participating in Regional Oregon Battle of the Books Regional Tournaments on Saturday, April 9 and Saturday, April 16.  Siuslaw Elementary School students (McKenna Jones, Chloe Bilbrey, Afton Linton, Macie Moore, and Maren Hughes, alternate) and Siuslaw Middle School students (Abigail Jones, Seamus Burke, Vanessa Nobles, Darrell 'Gage' Mills, and Braylon Evans) are participating April 9. Siuslaw High School students (Jane Wilks, Berkley Tregoning, Daniel Gorbett, Lillie Leland, and Darcy Edman, alternate) are participating April 16.    We thank our school coaches at each site! Siuslaw Elementary School coaches are Greg Jorgenson and Kassy Keppol.  Siuslaw Middle School coaches are Kelly Dotson, Hilary Roach, and Ryan Roach. The Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) is a statewide voluntary reading motivation and comprehension program sponsored by the Oregon Association of School Libraries in conjunction with a Library Services and Technology Act grant. OBOB's mission is to encourage and recognize students who enjoy reading, to broaden reading interests, to increase reading comprehension, promote academic excellence, and to promote cooperative learning and teamwork among students.
