Empower Me Coming to SMS. For more information, please visit 90by30.com. EmpowerME, is looking for volunteers to connect with middle schoolers starting in fall 2022! According to recent advances in brain imagery, early adolescence is a time of significant brain development, and the middle school years offer an incredible opportunity to support students’ social and emotional learning. Students who attend the EmpowerME meetups can expect opportunities to expand their social connections, create arts and crafts, play games, and more; all while eating yummy snacks!

The EmpowerME project, led by the West Lane 90by30 team, is inspired by the Search Institute’s Developmental Assets Framework, an evidence-based structure that has identified 40 positive supports and strengths that young people need to succeed. At each meetup, youth and adult volunteers work to support the development of these identified assets, including service to others, community values, sense of purpose, and planning and decision making.

Middle School Students: EmpowerME will offer a meetup every 3rd Sunday of the month from 1-3:30PM. Through creative activities, each session will include opportunities for kids to connect with each other, embark on service projects, develop time management tools, explore personal character and more.
