A public hearing of the Siuslaw School District 97J Board of Directors will be held on June 8, 2022 at 6:30PM at the Siuslaw School District Office.  The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and adopt the budget for 2022-2023 and discuss and approve the supplemental budget. The primary committee selections from each building for Language Arts adoption for 2022-2028 are available for review - some portions in digital format, and others in standard print version. Siuslaw Elementary School Kindergarten Kick-Off is Thursday, May 5 at 6 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity for families and students to meet teachers, tour classrooms, pickup a T-shirt for incoming kindergarteners, and to receive a grab-and-go dinner. Friday, April 15 is the end of the third quarter and grading day for teachers at Siuslaw School District; therefore, students have no school.
Siuslaw Choir POPS is back! This Monday, April 11 at 7 p.m. on the Siuslaw Middle School stage, Siuslaw High School vocalists will present their spring POPS Concert, featuring select Viking singers in solo performances of the world's best popular music. These young musicians pick their songs and put together an evening of outstanding family-friendly entertainment every spring. This year promises to be extraordinary! Admission is free; donations are gratefully accepted.
Lane County Public Health, in coordination with Florence Events Center, is holding vaccination events on April 13 and 16 by appointment only and also a third event on April 27. Conscious Discipline Parenting Classes start Tuesday, April 12, at the Pregnancy and Parenting Center from 12:30 to 2 PM; free childcare provided. The classes provide SEL (social emotional learning) foundations and resiliency in infants and toddlers.
