Siuslaw School District has three Budget Committee positions open for the school board budget process.  Positions 1, 5 and 7 are open for appointment by the school board. Apply by February 8, 2022 by 4:00PM. The Budget Committee includes the Board of Directors and seven volunteer citizens who are appointed to serve 3-year terms. Committee members must be registered voters living within the boundaries of the Siuslaw School District, and cannot be employees, officers, or agents of the district. The Oregon Health Authority has set final end dates for indoor mask mandates in Oregon - March 31, 2022.   Until then, all current mask and mitigation protocols will remain in place as the changes from the state are incorporated into new protocols after Spring Break.

Fresh Impressions is an opportunity for youth attending Siuslaw Middle School or Siuslaw, Mapleton, and home school high schools to showcase their talent and art, sell their work, and win awards and prizes! Starting Monday, February 7, students will begin classes at 9:10 at the middle school and 9:00 at the high school. Each school day will end at the regularly scheduled time. Bus transportation will remain the same and will arrive to school quite a bit earlier than when class begins. Supervision will be provided and opportunities for homework help, exercise, and a nutritious breakfast are also available. The elementary school schedule remains unchanged. There is no school on Monday, January 17 for Siuslaw School District staff and students in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Honor a 2022 SHS graduate with a recognition ad in the Siuslaw Yearbook! Make the yearbook even more special for one of our senior students. A yearbook ad is a loving tribute to a high school graduate/senior and can be personalized with your own sentimental message and a cherished photo or photo collage. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’ll last forever. Create the advertisement yourself or let our yearbook staff do it for you--just provide the message and photos you would like included. REMINDER: Early Dismissal Friday, Jan. 7 for SMS and SHS Students. We'd like to remind our families that all sixth- through twelfth-grade students in the Siuslaw School District will be released by lunch time Friday, January 7,  to allow staff to participate in professional development.   Students may be picked up or walk home from the middle school at 11:30 and the high school at 11:40.   Students riding the bus home will leave campus at 12:05.  All students wanting a lunch can have one before they leave campus.
The Siuslaw High School yearbook deadline for senior pictures and quotes is Thursday, January 13.  Photos and quotes can be submitted via email to siuslaw.yearbook@gmail.com. If seniors did not turn in their quote during a PRIDE class, please send quote using the provided email. Additionally, photos with high resolution are best (jpg images preferred). If you have any questions, please reach out to the yearbook advisor Tom Shinn or a yearbook staff member.
USiuslaw School District has canceled school for Monday, January 3 due to multiple road closures and power outages. We reported earlier a 2-hour delay. However, due to safety concerns, we are now canceling school for the day.
